History and System

The Irish Mathematical Olympiad was established in 1988. It is usually held in early May. The contest consists of two sessions of five problems each, held the same day.

Ireland at International Competitions

Ireland has participated at the IMO since 1988. The IMO team is selected through a training program after the national MO. The best ranking of an Irish team in the recent history was the 51-st place in 2005.
