History and System
The Spanish Mathematical Olympiad was established in 1965. It is held in two rounds. The first round, held in November, consists of two parts of 4 problems each, while the second round, held in February, consists of two parts of 3 problems each.
Spain at International Competitions
Spain participates at the IMO since 1983 and at the Iberoamerican MO since its establishment 1985. The team to the IMO is presumably selected through the national MO and the Mediterranean MC. In the recent history its best success was the 45-th place in 2006.
